Statuesque and statement-making, Immanuel is a spin on the traditional altar candle. The collection pushes our candle craftsmanship to new heights – literally, as the largest version soars to 1 m tall. Each handmade element involves a high level of difficulty, from the colouring, layering and application of the decorative wax relief to the drilling of the glossy candle’s base to ensure it fits flawlessly on its corresponding holder’s spike. The optimal cotton wick and wax quality combine for a perfect-burning candle.

Immanuel has a dedicated refilling system. This system is exclusive to Immanuel candles, as the size of the holders’ spikes perfectly matches the pre-drilled hole at the base of the candles, ensuring they stay securely in place for an ideal combustion.

Collection Immanuel - Oversized Altar Candles

Immanuel is our statement collection: oversized altar-style candles handcrafted by the most senior hands in our workshop. With heights reaching up to around one metre, each piece is made slowly and meticulously, sometimes taking up to three days to complete.

The process begins with the preparation of a special mineral and plant-based wax blend, combined with carefully measured pigments. Great precision is required at every step, especially in the perfect centring and tensioning of the wick, which is essential for an even, beautiful burn at this scale.

Each candle base is then drilled with exact accuracy so it can be securely mounted on the metallic tube of our dedicated holders, crafted from ash wood and designed specifically for the Immanuel collection.

Once poured and fully set, our artisans apply the signature decorative relief in three layers. While the wax is still warm, the relief is gently positioned by hand, then secured with tiny copper nails, a final gesture of craft that gives Immanuel its iconic character. Every candle is then wrapped in silk paper and protected in our signature pin-and-orange gift box.

How to Use:

-Before use, please read and follow all safety warnings and pictograms provided on the outer box label. These are essential for safe and proper use of this product. Check our website for more information or symbol explanation.

-Unwrap the candle & wooden holder from the packaging.

-Place the wooden holder on a stable and flat surface. Check if the metal bar is fitted securely and vertically.

-Carefully place the candle onto the metal spike to ensure it stands straight and securely. Ensure that it is standing vertically. This prevents the candle from leaning or falling and ensures the candle burns down evenly.

-Adjust the wick of the candle so that it is straight before lighting.

-When lit, do not place the burning candle near windows, fans, or heating vents to prevent uneven burning or dripping.

-We suggest you allow the candle to burn for a minimum of 1 hour a maximum of 8 hours.

-Once the candle has burned to the top of the wax relief, or you wish to stop using it, carefully extinguish the flame. Do not let the candle burn all the way down to the spike or holder. We advise to use a candle snuffer to put out the flame. Avoid blowing out directly to prevent hot wax splatters. If you move the candle / wooden holder, first take the candle off the holder, to avoid damage.

How to Care:

-If wax were to drip onto the wooden foot, we recommend to clean it off with a soft cloth, to avoid scratching the surface of the wooden holder.

-The colours of our candles and accessories are stable in UV light, but it’s best not to place the candle in direct sunlight or behind a window where sun shines
through, to ensure your candle remains in the best condition
