Sculptural candles

Our sculptural candles are conceived as architectural objects, where form, relief and proportion shape the presence of light.
Designed to stand freely in space, each piece expresses craftsmanship through volume and detail.

Relief, depth and the language of detail

The sculptural quality of our candles lies not only in their outline, but in their surface.

Immanuel’s decorative wax relief is applied by hand through a complex layering process, creating depth and texture that shifts with light. Each motif reinforces the vertical rhythm of the piece, reflecting a dialogue between the Baroque and Rococo sensibility of the 18th century, the era in which Hoogeland was founded, and a distinctly contemporary avant-garde approach. The collections are named after philosophers of the Age of Enlightenment, including Immanuel Kant and Baruch Spinoza, as a subtle nod to this century of light.

Baruch’s strength lies in its structural purity. The seamless transition between column and base conceals a multistage construction process, from mould creation to drilling and assembly.

Close observation reveals the craft.

Sculpture begins in detail.

Sculptural presence in contemporary interiors

These candles are designed to interact with space.

Placed on a dining table, a fireplace or a console, their verticality creates rhythm. Their colour palette, natural green, dark blue, cream, pink, orange, adds subtle architectural contrast because we believe that these touches of bold colors bring joy into home spaces..

Even unlit, they function as interior anchors.
Lit, they transform atmosphere.

Sculptural candles are chosen not simply to illuminate a room, but to define it.

Choosing between Baruch and Immanuel

Baruch embodies freestanding architectural solidity. Its integrated base allows it to stand independently, creating a grounded, sculptural presence.

Immanuel extends upward with ceremonial elegance. Its relief detailing and dedicated wooden holder introduce vertical drama and ritual symbolism.

Both collections reflect the same heritage of craftsmanship, expressed through different sculptural languages.maybe good to add that both reflecting an attempt to bridge design intentions inspired by the Barocco Roccoco era of the 18th century when Hoogeland was founded and the today avant-garde design

The choice is one of proportion, context and intention.
